What a simple craft for kids to learn about the letter N and numbers? All in one, you learn that numbers start with the letter N and there are numbers everywhere! It cannot get any simpler than this. This is one of the easiest ways to teach your child about numbers. It’s an all in one craft that has colors and numbers for young minds!

Skills

Types of skills can include math, science, fine motor, dramatic play, social and emotional. Here is how N for numbers applies these skills:

Math

This an amazing crafts to teach your child about numbers. To challenge the child, have the child identify the numbers. Using the numbers, have the child find the biggest and smallest numbers.

Fine Motor Skills

Have the child trace the N template onto a construction paper and cut it out with your supervision. If the child does not have the skills, do it for the child. It would be best to teach the students numbers and colors.

Dramatic Play and Social/Emotional

You can use the song “The Numeral Dance,” and have the children sing and dance using their number craft.

Boundaries

Please supervise the child when using scissor and other sharp items.

Materials

Have the following items ready: letter N template, construction paper, numbers foams, pencil, markers, scissor, and glue

Markers, any colored construction paper, and a letter N template

Steps

First, have the child trace the letter N template onto a construction paper and cut it with adult supervision.

Next, using the numbers foam, motivate the child to label the numbers prior to gluing onto the letter N. Correct them as needed.

Finally, ask the child how many numbers they used all together. And you are all done.

Modifications

Challenge the child by having them decorate the letter N with different numbers and markers.
